County Child Care Assistance

We have worked with all of the counties in the Twin Cities (and several out) in accepting their Child Care Assistance Programs (CCAP). If we are already registered as a provider in the county from which you receive assistance, the process of getting authorized for care is generally fairly quick. If you receive assistance from a MN county in which we are not currently registered as a provider, we will be happy to register as a provider with them.

In the registration, there is a section to complete if you receive or expect to receive assistance. Please read this section carefully as there is much information.

If you receive county child care assistance, your invoices will be sent toward the beginning of your bi-weekly service period and your co-pay will be due by the last day of the service period.

The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration. If your registration is received prior to May 1st, your registration fee will be applied to your co-pays, any additional fees (late pickup fees, schedule change fees, etc) or any amount that the county doesn't pay. If, at the end of the season (summer or school year), any remainder of the registration fee remains, it will be refunded to you. If your registration is received after May 1st, we will attempt to bill the county on the first invoice of the new season for the fee and reimburse you if they pay. Should you decide not to use care with us, the fee is not refundable.

Our weekly rate in the summer may be higher than what the county is willing to

Rates

How long does it take for a registration to be approved?

There are several factors that determine the length of time it will take for a contract to be approved.

Date of submission:

Certain times are much slower than others due to high rates of submission. Your approvals will take longer the first several weeks after registration opens (usually early March), and the month leading up to a new season (May and August).

Health or inclusion needs:

If your child has health or inclusion needs, especially those that require us to have accommodations in place or specially trained staff, approvals can take weeks or months, depending on the availability of training opportunities. If your child has not attended school in our district before, having a copy of their IEP or 504 will greatly speed up the process.

Can I choose an every-other-week schedule?

Yes. If you need the same days every other week, emailapolos@isd622.orgwith the weekly schedule.

Example:
Week 1 (beginning 9/4) Mon AM, Tues AM and PM, Wed AM
Week 2 (beginning 9/11) Wed PM, Thurs AM and PM, Fri AM

Are there any discounts?

Adventure Connection / Epic Connection does not offer any internal discounts or sliding fee scales, but we do accept the County Childcare Assistance Program. To find out if you qualify for child care assistance, please visit the website for the county in which you reside.

My child’s site is full. What are my options?

If your child’s site is full, there will be a waitlist option on the registration. A start date cannot be guaranteed, but we will work to get your child in as soon as possible.

Can you accommodate my child’s health or inclusion needs?

If your child has health or inclusion needs, especially those that require us to have accommodations in place or specially trained staff, approvals can take weeks or months, depending on the availability of training opportunities. If your child has not attended school in our district before, having a copy of their IEP or 504 will greatly speed up the process.

Will snacks be served?

Students will be offered an afternoon snack. You are welcome to send your own snack if you prefer.

Will breakfast be served?

All Adventure Connection students will be given the opportunity to go to the school’s breakfast. They are also welcome to bring their own breakfast to eat during their breakfast time.

What are the non-school days (NSD) and how do I register for them?

On many days when school is not in session, Adventure Connection offers full-day care (6:30 am-6:00 pm) at one or two locations. Each day is a separate registration, and you can choose as many or as few as you need.

If you are interested in attending Adventure Connection only on non-school days, you can register for our Non-School Day Only contract.

Non-school dates and fees will be updated at a later date.

Why do I get charged for days that my child is absent?

We base our staffing and supplies on the number of students we have scheduled for each session. The rate you pay is to hold your child’s spot in the program for your selected days.
