How to find out what ward you live in lds? ›

Click "Meetinghouse Locator" under the column "Tools and Support." 3. See the wards in your area. Once you click on the Meetinghouse Locator, it will bring up a map of all the LDS wards in your current area.

There is no minimum or maximum geographical size for a ward: In areas where there are greater numbers of active church members (such as urban and suburban areas in Utah), several wards can exist in only 1 square mile (2.6 km²). When the ward membership grows to a certain size, the ward will be divided.

Single members are divided into two groups: young single adults(YSA), aged from 18–30 and single adults (SA), aged 31 and older. Young men and women who have not married make up a significant portion of Church membership.

Members living in the U.S. and Canada constitute 46 percent of membership, Latin America 38 percent, and members in the rest of the world 16 percent.

In the LDS Church, the largest Latter Day Saint denomination, bishops are called from among the members of a local congregation, known as a ward, and traditionally serve, without pay, for four to seven years (the length of service varies). A ward is a community where Latter-day Saints can develop friendships and support their fellow Church members in their efforts to worship and follow Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcome to visit ward worship services on Sundays. Several wards make up a stake, which is similar to a Catholic diocese.

If you go to Ward Directory and Map under the nine-dot menu at the top right, it will take you to a map of your ward. If you click on Missionary at the bottom left of the page, the page will display your mission boundary.

Ideally, a branch will grow in numbers and strength and eventually become a ward. A ward is created when there are sufficient numbers and strength of members to carry out the full program of the Church.
