L&E Research Review (L&E Opinions) - Should You Participate? (2024)

I still remember the online rabbit hole I fell into after discovering that companies pay people for their opinions.

I went on an online extravaganza that lasted for over five hours.

L&E Research was one of the many market research companies I checked out. Many of the others I explored that day are long gone.

Today, the research agency is known as L&E Opinions, and I’m happy that they’re still going strong.

To help you save time and effort in deciding whether they’re perfect for you, I’ll share my L&E Research review (L&E Opinions review) with you.

What Is L&E Research?

Having been founded in 1984, L&E Research has been in the market research industry for almost four decades.

They work with the biggest brands, including Fortune 500 companies, and are based in the U.S.

They also have nationwide coverage, so anyone can sign-up.

However, they have eight offices across the country, such as in Austin, Tampa, and New York City.

These offices are where they conduct most of their in-person studies, but they also conduct phone interviews and online opportunities.

All you need to do is sign-up and be a part of their community of over a million respondents.

L&E Research Review (L&E Opinions Review): Is L&E Research Legit?

If there’s one thing I want you guys to take away from this review (or any of my previously posted ones, for that matter), it’s this: you should always check that the market research community you’re planning to join isn’t a scam.

Better Business Bureau is my go-to place to check for a firm’s legitimacy. Sadly, many agencies are still not BBB accredited.

While it doesn’t necessarily follow that a business isn’t trustworthy just because they’re not on BBB’s directory, I was still pleased to see L&E Research accredited.

This accreditation alone gives us a lot of insight into the company.

For instance, the marketing research firm has an outstanding rating of A+. This is really impressive, given that L&E Research has been accredited since 1998.

Other places to check a company’s reputation are Trustpilot and Yelp. L&E Research has no reviews posted on Trustpilot.

I generally consider this a good sign, considering that most people are only motivated to write online reviews to file a complaint.

Meanwhile, the market research agency is doing pretty well on Yelp, with 21 mostly positive reviews.

What Are People Saying About L&E Research?

The majority of the L&E Research testimonials posted on Yelp are positive.

Here’s from someone who participated in an in-person focus group discussion:

“I participated in a focus group here a few weeks ago. I’ve participated in similar groups by other companies over the years. I don’t participate often.

The pre-selection staff was friendly and cordial on the phone. The staff at the office were pleasant and accommodating.

The moderator was friendly, engaging and kept our diverse group focused on the task at hand. I’d return here for another group with no hesitation.”

Just like other companies, L&E Research isn’t perfect.

However, it’s surprising how even their negative feedback has something good to say about them.

Here’s a good example:

“Was involved in research for 3 months and was promised initial payment (never received) and monthly payments as long as research was conducted.

After several calls finally received payment. Staff was pleasant, but their interdepartmental communications are sadly lacking.”

Finally, I also checked out other reviews posted about L&E Research (or L&E Opinions) within the market research community, and they didn’t disappoint. They have a lot of good things to say about this firm.

How Does L&E Research Work?

Since I want to give you guys a well-rounded L&E Research review (L&E Opinions review), I also went ahead and sign-up as a new member of their community.

You’ll also be asked to answer qualifying questions once you complete your account registration.

Try to answer these questions as honestly and accurately as possible because it’s what the market research company will use to match you with their research studies.

As I’ve already mentioned above, they have various research opportunities you can participate in.

They have paid surveys, focus groups, phone interviews, and more. It really increases one’s earning potential.

Step 3: Start Earning

Once you get accepted, the next step is to participate in the research you’ve qualified for.

The email invitation will contain all the details you need to give your opinion and accomplish the task.

Another option is to check out their Available Studies page and apply to open studies directly.

Step 4: Receive Payment

The study details you’ll receive will also contain your compensation info. They guarantee that participating in any of their studies will get you rewards in cash or a virtual gift card.

How to Earn Money with L&E Research

There are two ways to earn money with L&E Research. The more straightforward way is to take part in paid studies.

They don’t have a minimum payout as the reward will vary according to different factors, such as the brand or client, the duration of the project, and the amount of effort required to provide your opinion.

They have two main forms of rewards. You can withdraw cash via pre paid visa cards or enjoy free products and services with a virtual card.

Aside from completing their research tasks, you may earn by joining their referral program.

Invite your friends to be a part of their ever-growing community.

You’ll get paid for each referral who successfully joins and participates in their studies.

Here’s a quick tip: Some online communities are specifically created for avid respondents and interested participants in social media networks such as Facebook and Reddit.

These are ideal places to share your referral link with other people. Sharing your positive experience will further boost the likelihood of people clicking on your link.

Alternative Market Research Firms to Check Out

Indeed, the opportunities L&E Research provides to participate in various research studies are promising; in fact, I had a positive first experience with them.

I completed my online mission in just a little over an hour, and I got paid immediately.

However, I also recognize that not all of their respondents experience the same.

For instance, one of my close friends within the market research community reported that it took L&E Research fairly long to match him with an ideal study.

I believe that it’s due to the size of its million-strong community. There are always a lot of great people who’ll qualify for any study at any given time.

Hence, let me share with you some alternative market research firms to check out.

Focus Groups of America

Focus Groups of America, or FGA, is legendary in the world of marketing research. According to their website, they are the “largest independent, full-service supplier of research services” in the country.

They specialize in focus group discussions and mock trials.

The first step to being a part of their growing community is to click “Become a Participant” on their homepage, which will lead you to their sign-up page.

It contains all the information you’ll need to become a member and their registration form.

What I like most about them is their privacy policy. They promise never to share your contact details with their clients.

They also always ask your permission every step of the way.

Research America Inc.

Another reputable market research agency is Research America Inc. Like L&E Research, they have over three decades of experience in the industry and multiple offices across the country.

They have an impressive online community of over 30 million members to date.

To become one of them, all you need to do is to click on “Join Our Panel” on their homepage. This will take you to their registration form, which only takes a few minutes to complete.

There’s no need to worry about their firm’s legitimacy.

They have multiple awards and recognitions, including being part of the NielsenIQ Connect Partner Network, receiving the Greenbook Top 50 Market Leader badge, and getting listed as A Quirk’s Top Research Company in 2021.

National Field & Focus

It was 1990 when National Field & Focus was founded, but their industry experience goes further than that.

This market research company takes pride in the fact that its experts already have over 50 years of accumulated expertise.

They offer four main services to their clients. These are focus group facilities, interviewing services, recruiting services, and field management.

These make it possible for them to conduct multi-city research projects easily and confidently.

You may join their community by clicking on the “Join Us” button, which will lead you to a Google Form that you need to fill up to register.

They compensate their respondents for their opinions, just like the other research firms I’ve featured.

However, what I really appreciate about National Field & Focus is the fun studies they offer. My personal favorite is their taste tests conducted in their state-of-the-art commercial test kitchen.

After all, only a few market research companies that provide this type of activity. Many of them only stick to online tasks such as paid surveys, and that’s it!

Finally, you don’t have to look for opportunities to share your opinion with your favorite brands while also earning money in return.

Finding a legitimate market research firm at times can be challenging. After all, there are a lot of questionable groups out there posing as “legitimate organizations” even if they’re not.

That’s why I usually recommend long-standing companies like L&E Research. Most of them are accredited and recognized by other institutions already, such as BBB and NielsenIQ.
